  1. Jun 27,  · ("Call of the West" has always stayed in print, thanks to "Mexican Radio"). "Dark Continent" is a great album (at least the parts that I like), and I strongly recommend the Index Masters CD that complies the early WOV EP's, as it contains great live versions of a lot of "Dark Continent" tracks/5(30).
  2. Raven presents two original, innovative wall of voodoo albums on one cd for the first time: dark continent (i.r.s., ) and call of the west (i.r.s., ). Wall of voodoo emerged from the late s los angeles punk/alternative scene with a unique /5(18).
  3. The album was first issued on compact disc by A&M in In , Australian label Raven Records reissued Dark Continent and the second Wall of Voodoo album, Call of the West, together on one CD, featuring a full color booklet with liner notes by Ian McFarlane. Both albums were digitally New wave, post-punk.
  4. View credits, reviews, tracks and shop for the Dolby System Cassette release of Call Of The West on Discogs/5(6).
  5. I do not own the album or the picture. Track listing "Tomorrow" -- "Lost Weekend" -- "Factory" -- "Look at Their Way" -- "Hands of Love".
  6. This cd combines both Stan Ridgway-fronted Wall of Voodoo albums into one amazing package. Unlike the 2-album-compilation releases of Devo, there actually appears to be a lot of thought put into this release.
  7. In reference to all of the Wall of Voodoo albums “Mexican Radio” nearly always comes to mind when anyone speaks of Wall Of Voodoo, a group whose music is laced with tension, a bit of nervous apprehension, even paranoia, all set to a driving synth, spurred on by the, dare I say, unique vocals of Stan Ridgway.
  8. Call of the West is the second studio album by Los Angeles new wave band Wall of Voodoo, released in September The album contains "Mexican Radio", the group's most well-known song, which was released as a single and whose video received moderate airplay on MTV. In , Australian label Raven Records reissued Call of the West and the first Wall of Voodoo album, Dark Continent.
  9. Wall of Voodoo's second full-length album, Call of the West, was a noticeably more approachable work than their debut, Dark Continent, and it even scored a fluke hit single, "Mexican Radio," a loopy little number about puzzled American tourists that's easily the catchiest thing on the album.
